Why ATVO is not able to work correctly with replay.

Hey James!

First off .. those graphics look amazing! Very professional.

I'm starting to be tempted again to consider using ATVO for my replays .. I'm still wary of the lack of updating for other car times ... but I have to say your video example looked really good. There was just one moment when a time blanked out from the middle of the grid for a few seconds ..

So, that leads me to a new question for Nick and Simon:

I've recently purchased a license for JRT (Joel Real Timing) as that is the only tool I have found that calculates "real time" timing from a replay. However, it is not really a broadcast tool, so I'm having to build a lot of things from scratch .. and the user experience is nowhere close to as nice as ATVO.

Given that JRT is updating timing from a replay several times a second .. would there be any way to feed that data into an instance of ATVO? That might solve all these issues!

(JRT is not a competitor for ATVO .. Joel doesn't do anything for Broadcast .. it's just a tool for Overlays .. and I was going to try to hack it into a Broadcast tool .. but I'd much rather just be able to pull his data into an ATVO theme .. and I'm sure James would too :-)

Cheers,

-Jeremy

Yeah! you are right! ATVO is the ultimate solution right now to create theme! i love it, i want to help other to learn it and make it better!

thanks for your comments... i worked a lot of time on that theme... and we tested two broadcasts with and nobody notice any big problem...

There's no way we can feed JRT data into ATVO unless Joel supports this somehow. It is probably much easier for all of us if we build similar replay support into ATVO directly. It's been on my list for some time but it's not easy and will probably take some time to implement. Maybe Joel is willing to share some of his logic if we get stuck, who knows :)
