Details:

New gap / interval calculation
The gap / interval calculation has been revised and now behaves much better. Please keep an eye out for issues in the gaps especially related to multi-class races and report any issues. In case of issues: you can revert to the old-style calculation by enabling "Legacy gaps" in the settings.
More details and feedback here: feedback.
  • Gaps and intervals are now calculated in real-time and can be updated multiple times per second.
  • The update rate can be changed in the settings. This controls how many times per second the gaps update. You can use a fractional value < 1 to update slower than once per second (for example: an update rate of 0.5 would update once every 2 seconds).
  • Gaps and intervals no longer need time to "settle" but should be correct immediately and always.

Pace delta information in the Timing Screen:
ATVO now keeps track of the pace of each car and reports it in the Timing Screen. Pace is calculated by comparing the current pace to the average of the previous few laps. You can see both the instantaneous pace on track (e.g. is the car on pace right now or did it slow down?) and the current laptime delta compared to their average lap.
Details & feedback
  • The instantaneous pace is shown as a rectangular block with different colors: purple (faster), green (normal), yellow (slow) and red (very slow / stopped).
  • The laptime delta is shown as a number next to the pace indicator.
  • Note that the laptime delta and pace don't necessarily show the same information. For example, a car may have spun several corners ago causing a large laptime delta of +5 seconds, but it is now back on normal pace so the pace indicator is green.
  • The laptime delta requires at least one completed lap of data so it will show 0.0 until the car starts a new lap. Additionally, the laptime delta is less accurate until at least one full lap is completed.
  • The pace indicator block also shows the progress of the car around the lap via a progress bar at the bottom.

Session Events update:
The Session Events list now highlights differente events with colors, and allows you to filter the list down to the event types you think are relevant.
Details & feedback
  • Added several new events: car going slow, car has crashed, car has exited the pits, car has gained a position.
  • "Slow car" and "Crashed car" event detection may still need to be fine-tuned to avoid false detection, this is an ongoing process and your testing feedback helps. Please let us know if there are false reports of slow or crashed cars.
